Eating Out... Snowdonia has great restaurants, pubs, bistros and cafes, most serving local produce from Welsh beef and lamb, fresh seafood, farmhouse cheeses and even local wine and beer.

Pengwen Arms  0.7 miles 01766762200 (route map) An old Dovers coaching inn, now owned and run by the local community of Llan Ffestiniog. Situated in the village square next to the church and overlooking the vale of Ffestiniog. We love this pub, we were made to feel so welcome when we bought The Haybarn. Great food and very friendly, and only a short stroll up the road. All ingredients are locally sourced where possible, and meals cooked from fresh. Homemade specials include... Homemade Lasagne, Gammon, sirloin steak and vegetarian options too. You might catch the male voice choir having a beer and practice, as we have.

Homemade chicken curry with rice, poppadom and mango chutney £9.95

Beer battered fish with hand cut chips mushy peas or garden peas. £9.95

Red Chillis Indian Restaurant and Take away  2.6 miles 01766831983 (route map) Delicious Bangladeshi cuisine. A great selection of tasty curries, starting from £6.20 (eat in) £5.20 (takeaway). Definitely recommended by us. Great service Great food.

Trish and Chips  2.7 miles 01766832095 (route map) Freshly cooked fish and chips along with other delicious options. Extremely friendly staff, and quick service with the option to eat in. We have always had fantastic fish and chips.

The Grapes Hotel and Bar  3.4 miles 01766590365 (route mapLocated in a lovely village called Maentwrog. The hotel is one of the oldest, and most famous coaching inns in Wales. The grade II listed inn dates back from the 17th century. It serves fabulous food cooked fresh and locally sourced where possible. Highly recommend. Pie and curries of the day, steaks, gammon and burgers etc.

The Oakley Arms  3.6 miles 01766590277 (route map) A traditional style bar with cosy chairs, comfy sofas and real fires. Menus and special boards change regularly and striving to offer traditional Welsh cuisine made with local and seasonal produce. Delicious food and scrumptious Sunday lunch.

Breakfast is available from 7.00 - 10.00am

Food Monday - Sunday 12.00 - 3.00pm and 5.00 - 9.00pm.

Bryn Arms 4 miles 01766540655  (route map) Friendly pub, serving a large selection of food. Good for groups, parties and children. Priced well and dogs welcome. There is a pool table and Tv screens.

Brondanw Arms  7.5 miles 01766770555 (route map) Known locally as "The Ring", owing to it originally being a quayside pub where boats were moored and tied. This historic pub resides within the famous Brondanw Estate in Portmerion.  A very friendly cosy pub filled with character , putting on quiz nights, Open mic nights and live bands. Delicious home cooked meals including.. Welsh beef Lasagne, Lamb shank, Steak pie, belly pork and beer battered cod etc.

Y Sgwar 11 miles 01766515451 (route map) Situated in the picturesque market square of Tremadog, with beautiful views of mountain backdrops. The restaurant is chic in style, the slate floor, stone fireplace and archway offer historic touches to the otherwise contemporary style. Food is sourced locally where possible. Offering lunches, snacks, an early bird menu, A la-Carte and Sunday roasts. The Y Sgwar won a hospitality award in 2017.

Caffi Castell Harlech  12.4 miles 01766780200 (route map) With fantastic views across Snowdonia and the castle this great cafe has a scrumptious range of cakes, an incredible value breakfast and lunch menu. Some of the cakes include raspberry and white chocolate cake,  Raspberry, lemon and coconut cake,  Courgette, pistachio and lime cake, salted caramel and chocolate fudge cake and fresh scones etc.

Hebog cafe and bistro  13.1 miles 01766890400 (route map)  Serving local Mussels (in season), Welsh lamb ciabattas, Homemade lasagne, Home baked ham with eggs, chefs Chicken Korma, Homemade Faggots over creamed mash and mint gravy. Caffi Gwynant  15.9 miles 01766890855 (route map) An ideal place for a snack,drink, or breakfast or something more substantial before or after a walk to the summit of Snowdon. (Watkin Path). Offering a wide selection of of daily specials, homemade cakes and desserts, local ales and and free Wi-fi. Dogs are welcome outside under an impressive glass canopy. meals include

Local Produce Markets

Porthmadog local produce market  Held on the last Saturday of the month between 9.30am and 2.00pm at Y Ganolfan, Porthmadog (except for December, when it is held on the last Saturday before Christmas). 

Ogwen Market  Held on the 2nd Saturday of the month between 9.30am to 1.00pm at Neuadd Ogwen, Bethesda. 

Conwy Farmers Market Held on the last Wednesday of the month at the Conwy RSPB Nature Reserve between 9.00am and 1.00pm. (except for December, when it is held on the last Wednesday before Christmas).
