About Us: WE LOVE IT HERE, WE THINK YOU WILL TOO

We have stayed in many wonderful holiday cottages over the years, and with doing so we have had a long held dream of some day owning our own and sharing that dream with others. We both have a passion for walking and Paul with mountain biking, so we chose what we think is the perfect place. Snowdonia National Park. We started the search in 2017 and came across The Haybarn  (Ysgbour Caer Blaild ) while driving around on a cold October day in 2018 while making a short cut to view another property AND THERE IT WAS. We knew instantly this was the one. We were lucky enough to be able to view that evening and put a heart pounding offer in the very next morning, which was accepted!

AND SO OUR NEW VENTURE HAD BEGUN! We received the keys on December 22nd, and as we are also DIY mad we made a start on the renovations over that Christmas. From then on we traveled from work every Friday evening, and traveled back home Sunday evenings. It was sometimes hard to keep that momentum going, but we just had to stand still for a moment and look at the view, which always spurred us on. 

The barn was used by the previous owners as a family holiday home for 30 years, and as promised to them we would try and update the house, allowing for many more family fun holidays.  We have made some big changes; adding a fourth bedroom, making what was the mezzanine bedroom more private, adding on en-suites and a shower room and opening out the kitchen to provide an open plan feel, along with updating and improving the whole building and garden. We have tried to put back everything we have taken out of the building, using every bit of timber from walls and floors, along with using talented local tradesmen for anything we couldn't tackle ourselves. 

We have been so passionate about creating a wonderful holiday home in such a beautiful area, there is so much to see and do so nothing would please us more knowing that anyone coming to stay at the Haybarn will make it their home during their stay and have a well deserved, fun filled holiday. We will then know we have reached our goal. 

We have tried to provide everything we can think of from maps, information and home comforts along with everything you might need to have a wonderful holiday.  If you think we may of forgotten anything please do not hesitate to let us know.
