ANTUR STINIOG 4 miles 01766238007 (route map) The best mountain bike uplift in Snowdonia Wales! Antur Stiniog offers 14 fantastic downhill trails, graded green to black, and the best mountain bike uplift service in the UK, some say the world. The trails have had international acclaims from Mtb press and riders alike.

To fully experience the uplift service, it is highly recommended booking a full day ticket. This will uplift up to 20 runs a day. Arriving early is recommended. There is mountain bike hire powered by Nukeproof. 

A state of the art fully equipped downhill centre complete with jump site, cafe, shop, showers, bike maintenance and bike wash. There is also an outdoor shop, information centre, coffee house and art gallery in the heart of Blaenau Ffestibiog.  

Open 5 days a week (Thurs - Mon) April - October,  4 days a week (Thur - Sun) from Oct - Mar

Pennachno forest 9.6 miles (route map) The Penmachno trails are the hidden gem of North Wales mountain biking, 30km of super-sweet single track and scenic forest trails. The trails are split into two loops, which can be ridden individually or as one amazing 30km ride. Be warned if you do ride the complete circuit, just as you get your breath back from the descent on loop 1 the views on loop 2 will take it away again! 

Dolen Machno Loop 1 Red grade 19km 560m climb 1.5- 3hrs

Dolen Eryri  loop 2 Red grade 11km 206m climb 1 - 2hrs

Once you have ripped round the trails don't forget to 'pay back your dirt'. The trails are managed by a local community group, and funded by donations from bikers and maintained by volunteers.

Coed y Brenin 12.2 miles (route map) The UK's first and largest dedicated mountain bike trail centre, Coed y Brenin not only has miles of exceptional singletrack for experienced and expert riders, but also great family and intermediate trails for all abilities. 

Bike hire: offering Full Day (9am - 4pm) or 3 Hour periods. 

There is a shop with a wide range of accessories and bikes,

A visitors centre, Cafe, showers and  24hr toilets

Marin Trail 18.6 miles (route map) The Marin trail is a popular mountain bike trail. Big climbs, big descents, brilliant single track and truly awesome scenery. The climbs on the forest roads and tracks give you time to take all this in. The single track varies from very tight, technical and rocky to wonderfully open and flowing, from dark forest to exposed ridge lines. 

A map of the trail can be brought from the Betws y Coed Tourist information Centre. It is also advisable that you carry the relevant OS map with you.

Beddgelert Forest 18.3 miles (route map) There are two loops. The 9.5km Derwen trail yellow A pleasant tour of the Beddgelert forest.The climbs are steady and the views across Snowdonia are wonderful. The route takes in the lake which is a lovely place to stop. There are some steep hills on the return along with some uneven track  surfaces. A green trail which is 4km.

The Mawddach Trail 18.6 miles (route map) 9 miles one way ,the Trail joins the towns of Dolgellau and Barmonth, along the beautiful shores of the Mawddach Estuary. It has the advantage of being totally flat. Following the track of the old railway line,you can join the trail at a number of locations, with car parks at the start in Doldellau at Y Marian, and then along the trail at Pont y Wernddu, Penmaenpool, Arthog and Mofa Mawddach. 

The Mawddach Trail is also the perfect family cycle trail. It provides flat and easy cycling for its entire length as well as wide open views of the heart of Snowdonia National Park.

Lon Gwyrfai 18 miles (route map) This is a multi-use 4.5 mile recreational path created especially for walkers/cyclists and horse riders. The path leads through a variety of landscapes offering views of Llyn y Gadair. The path is even and wide so suitable for some powered tramper type vehicles or power assisted wheelchairs. There are some steep sections and a footbridge or ford within the forest.

Ffordd Brailsford Way  The haybarn is situated along the Brailsford way, making it an ideal base from which to start and end from. There are two stunning cycle routes one 50 miles and the other 75 miles.
